Before joining Avalanche in 1999, Bruce built Automated Design Systems, a computer hardware and software reseller, from scratch (1988) to a peak year of over $7 million in annual revenue (F1999) and 12 offices (9 company owned) from Ottawa, ON to Victoria, BC.
"I believe that business fundamentals come first. At the end of the day, there must be a positive bottom line, and everything the company does must be done with this goal in mind. It is the only way to build long-term shareholder value."
Bruce holds an Honours Degree in Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at the Western University in London Ontario, and is also an accomplished programmer. |
"My goal with Avalanche is to grow it the same way we grew Automated Design Systems but with a greater emphasis on creating a stable and recurring revenue stream. With Automated Design Systems, we developed a profitable business model for our prototype operation and then duplicated that model in a controlled manner to increase our sales and profitability. We are laser-focused on creating that profitable prototype for Avalanche by using the web tools that Avalanche has already developed, and by continually developing new proprietary tools and strategies. The key is to provide a cost effective service to our clients that generates a positive return on investment; satisifed clients provide ongoing stable revenue for our company."
In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of Avalanche, Bruce is the lead search engine optimization researcher -- continually developing with the Avalanche staff the program specification that gets applied to customer sites in order to get them highly placed in the search engines in a timely manner.
